The five-day age-based Men’s IHF Trophy 2026 is going to start on June 10, 2026. Players from six countries are going to participate. Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Yemen, Maldives and Afghanistan. The teams will be divided into two groups in the U-20 category. Group A is India, Nepal and Yemen. Group B is Maldives, Afghanistan and host Bangladesh. The semi-finals will be held with the champions and runners-up teams of the two groups, and the final will be held on June 14, 2026.
The matches in the Under-18 category will be held in a round robin league system. The team with the highest points will be crowned the champion. To improve the quality of handball worldwide and provide opportunities for young players to play international matches at the grassroots level, the International Handball Federation has divided the entire Asian continent into several geographical zones or regions. According to the rules of the International Handball Federation, Asian Zone-2 has been formed by South and Central Asia. One of the various tournaments under this zone is this year’s age-based IHF Trophy. The team that wins the championship in this zone will later get the opportunity to play in the continental phase in the main phase of the entire Asian continent.

The tournament was officially inaugurated by the Honorable State Minister of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Mr. Md. Aminul Haque.
Youth and Sports Secretary Mr. Md. Mahbub-ul-Alam will be present as the special chief guest.
The event will be presided over by the President of Bangladesh Handball Federation, Mr. Abu Mohammad Sarwar Farid.
