Closing and award ceremony of “Walton Independence Day Handball Competition (Men & Women) – 2021 organized by Bangladesh Handball Federation and sponsored by Walton Group on the occasion of Bangabandhu’s birth centenary today, Sunday 21st March 2021 at 10:30 AM At the hour of the platoon martyr (Captain) M. It was held at Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium. FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, Executive Director, Walton Group, sponsored the event and distributed prizes among the players and officials of the competition champion and runners-up team. The event was presided over by Md. Nurul Islam, Vice President of Bangladesh Handball Federation.

General Secretary of the Federation Asaduzzaman Kohinoor, Secretary of the Steering Committee Md. Maqbool Hossain and other officials of the Federation were present on the occasion.

Results of today’s final game:

Women’s section

In the final match of women’s section held at 09:00 am, Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force defeated Bangladesh Police Handball Club by 36-25 goals and became the champion. The champion team was leading 15-14 in the first half. Alpana scored a maximum of 11 goals for the champion team and Rubina scored a maximum of 11 goals for the winning team.

Men’s section

In the final match of the men’s division held at 10:30 am, Border Guard Bangladesh defeated Bangladesh Police Handball Club by 39-25 goals and became the champion. The champion team was leading 16-11 in the first half. Sagar scored a maximum of 13 goals for the champion team and Russell scored a maximum of 11 goals for the winning team.

Alpana Akhter of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force (Jersey No. 10) was selected as the best player of the women’s division in the competition. Men’s Border Guard Bangladesh’s Mehdi (jersey number-03) to be the best player Gains glory.
